Technical Name: Penoxsulam 2.67% w/w OD
Mode of Entry: Selective, systemic herbicide
Mode of Action: Pinox (Penoxsulam 2.67% w/w OD) is a systemic, selective post-emergence herbicide developed for effective weed control in rice fields. It is taken up through both the leaves and roots of weeds and then moves throughout the entire plant. Pinox inhibits the Acetolactate Synthase (ALS) enzyme, which is vital for the production of essential amino acids in plants. This disruption stops weed growth, causing them to weaken and gradually die, while leaving rice crops safe. By maintaining cleaner fields during crucial early growth stages, Pinox helps rice compete better against weeds.
Key Features & Benefits:
Safe for rice crops: Targets weeds without harming transplanted or direct-seeded rice.
Broad-spectrum action: Controls grasses, sedges, and broadleaved weeds commonly found in paddy.
Extended protection: Keeps fields weed-free longer, meaning fewer repeat applications.
Better weed coverage: Advanced OD (oil dispersion) formulation mixes easily and coats leaves effectively.
Boosts yields: Reduces weed competition so rice can use more nutrients, sunlight, and water.
Economic advantage: Fewer sprays and better crop health lead to higher returns.
Recommended Crops:
Rice (transplanted and direct-seeded paddy)
Target Weeds:
Grasses: Echinochloa crus-galli (Barnyard grass), Echinochloa colonum
Sedges: Cyperus difformis, Fimbristylis miliacea
